Our Services

Industrial Welding & Fabrication, Done by the People Who’ve Run the Plant

Southern Welding self-performs every discipline on this page — our own certified welders, our own fabricators, our own equipment. No subcontractors, no handoffs, one point of contact from first call to final weld.

We’ve Been on Your Side of the Plant

15+

Years in Business

Southern Welding has been in the mechanical welding, industrial maintenance, and fabrication business for over 15 years — but our team’s experience goes back much further. Founder Shane Boston and much of the Southern team spent years running, managing, and maintaining industrial plants before they ever picked up a torch for a client. That’s the difference: we built the company we wished we’d had when we were the ones responsible for keeping a plant running.

Today, Southern Welding is part of the American Industrial Services (AIS) family of companies — which means when a project needs refractory, structural fabrication, or industrial maintenance beyond our own scope, we coordinate that internally.

One call still gets you the right team.

What We Do

Six Disciplines. One Crew.

Every service below is performed by our own certified welders and fabricators — not a subcontractor network. Whatever your plant needs, one call covers it.

Pipe Welding

Structural and process pipe welding across carbon, stainless, and specialty alloys — coded welders deployed to cement, mining, power, and paper plant environments. From routine pipe runs to full pipeline sections, built to code and to your plant’s operating tolerances.

Structural Welding

Structural steel welding for platforms, supports, walkways, and load-bearing components. When a structure has to hold weight safely for decades, not just pass inspection once, this is the crew that builds it.

Learn More →

Metal Fabrication

Custom-fabricated parts and structures — steel, stainless, aluminum, and copper — built to your plant’s exact specification. From a single replacement part to a full custom assembly, fabricated in-house and delivered ready to install.

Learn More →

Welding & Fabrication

When a project needs welding and fabrication delivered together — not two separate contractors on two separate schedules — this is the integrated service. One crew handles design intent through final weld, so nothing gets lost in the handoff.

Learn More →

Specialty Welding

Spot, orbital, and aluminum welding for the jobs that need a specific process done right the first time. Certified welders qualified across the specialty processes your plant’s equipment actually requires.

Learn More →

Mobile / Field Welding

On-site welding and fabrication support, deployed to your facility instead of ours. When equipment can’t come to us, we come to it — with the same certified crews and quality standard as our shop work.

How We Work

Three Ways Plants Work With Us

Emergency Callout

Unplanned Repair or Breakdown

When a plant goes down unexpectedly, getting the right crew on-site fast is everything. We commit to responding to every inquiry within 24 hours — for true emergencies, we mobilize immediately.

24-hour response · Nationwide

Planned Outage

Scheduled Maintenance Scope

We work to your outage window — pre-planning crew sizing, materials, and sequencing so work starts on Day 1 of the shutdown, not Day 3. When the scope touches refractory or structural fabrication, AIS Group coordinates that internally.

Single point of contact · Fully sequenced

Capital Project

New Installation or Major Upgrade

From initial fabrication drawings through final installation, we manage the welding and fabrication scope of capital projects start to finish — estimating, scheduling, and on-site execution under one contract.

Design to handover · One crew

Industries We Serve

Built for Heavy Industry

We’ve spent 250+ combined years inside cement, mining, power, and paper plants — not just servicing them from the outside.
